Where Passion Met the Microphone
Kelley’s love for performance started early, and loudly. As a child, she was frequently in trouble at school for talking too much, driven by an innate desire to explain concepts, help others, give speeches, and host. When she was about 12 years old, she became utterly obsessed with The Wizard of Oz. Armed with a giant comic book version of the story, bought by her mother, Kelley meticulously copied down the scripting for every single character. She made custom costumes, recruited the neighborhood kids, and directed her very first “play” right in her basement.
Back then, she was also busy playing “classroom” with her stuffed animals and dolls, completely unaware that this childhood game would blossom into a lifelong career in adult learning. Years later, while working for MCI, she found her true calling in facilitation, loving nothing more than watching the “lightbulb” go on as people learned.
Corporate Facilitation to Silvercup Studios
During her time at MCI, her corporate career intersected naturally with professional performance. Selected from a large internal talent pool, she appeared in national television commercials for the company’s “Friends and Family” and “Best Friends” campaigns and traveled to New York to film at Silvercup Studios. The experience marked the beginning of her professional on camera work and helped establish her as trusted talent for corporate video and voiceover commercials.
Recognizing her natural charisma, MCI began utilizing her talents across the board, tapping her to travel and host corporate award shows and film internal training videos. In almost every corporate role Kelley held throughout her career, she organically carved a path back to the microphone and the lens.
